Offered here is a vintage sailing theme ashtray: "Brass with a center bakelite spinner piece that looks like a ship's steering wheel".  The bakelite has a chip on the bottom where it mounts on a little shaft. no big deal.  very cool. 1940's - 1950's I would guess??
