Offered here is an antique children's book," Alonzo and Melissa: or The Unfeeling Father An American Tale, 1839", Sandbornton, N.H. by Charles Lane. First appearance c.1804 serially in the Political Barometer, Mitchell's newspaper (Howe). Original brown calf, brown calf spine title stamped gilt, giltBoards rubbed and leather misisng at extremities, corners worn, spine head and heel chipped - some leather missing, both joints cracked 1/2 from top and bottom, pages lightly flocked on print. Three names written on inside back cover. Over-all nice copy of this book. 2 3/4" X 4 1/4" in size ruled and spine decorations. 24mo. pp. 258, blank endpages. Flocking, browning on endpages. Good.
Offered here is a wonderful antiquarian 19th century German Bible: "Die Bibel oder die ganze Heilige Schrift.....! German Bible about 1400 pages. Full leather bound with some rubbing at the extremities. Some stress breaks in the leather on the spine near the top.
Offered here is a vintage children's hardcover: "Elder Park; or, Scenes In Our Garden", by Mrs. Alfred Payne, very cool frontis with little girls and parents, James Nisbet & Co. Publ., London, 1869, 160 pp, approx 4" X 6" with several pages of book at the end. Embossed red cloth with stamped gilt titles and center decoration, with bumps and minor rubs at the corners, hinge pulling at frontis - as seen. A light stain on the inside back cover and back of last blank endpage, front hinge slightly loose. Likely a first edition.

Nicoll, at St. Paul's Church Yard, MDCCLXIX", [1769], introductory -> viii, plus 50 pps. including 7 pages of an index to Lodges in England, Masonic Exposure, A safe and easy method proposed, by which a Man may obtain Admittance into any Lodge . . &c &c". {I find two later editions (1797) listed on Albitris, Bibliofind ect - $547.50 - $812.00 respectively - this is 30 years earlier).

Worthington & Co. 1875. Frontis illustrated steelplate portrait of Mrs. T.B.H. Stenhouse, with tissue in place. 623 pps., 18 pages of illustration including a steel plate of Brigum Young. Book flocked. Full calf bound with black cloth spine covered spine and gilt titles. A renowned Mormon expose. Fascinating glimpses into everyday life)This book was apparently available in 2 bindings , full calf and ornate gilt cloth - this is the calf bound ... The hinges are broken and long ago seperated - with cloth glued at the top and bottom across the spine. The front green endpage is missing -else seems complete. The back has an advertisement for Woods Home Magazine (we have several of these listed on eBay). This is a very scarce edition of this book!
Offered here is a vintage antique early 19th century American Bible, Leather bound, approx. 7" X 5" X 3", Quill pen written names on inside cover, "Josia Fuller and Benjamin Fuller", first blank endpage message "Presented to Josiah Fuller by the Saratoga Bible Society", The Holy Bible Containing the Old and New Testament, Translated Out of The Original Tongues,...., American Bible Society, New York, 1817, Old Testament 832 pps.; New teastament 254 pps.. Heavy edge stain from front of Bible and on the covers and lessening until it is gone by page 100 or so. Leather is in great condition otherwise and pages are age darkened throughout.

Marbled paper covered boards - spine leather coverd with brown plastic tape - slightly rounded at corners. Front endpages missing - pages lightly tanned with light foxing. Over-all a great little book, about 4 1/4" X 6 3/4" - original red silk place marker in book.
