Offered here is for a vintage Audubon bird book: "The Birds of America", " With Forward and Descriptive Captions by William Vogt", by John James Audubon, The Macmillan Company, 1942 (third printing of this modern edition). About 9 1/4" X 12 1/2" in size, 435 numbered plates. plus XXVI of "Transript Of The Legends Of The Original Plates With A Note Concerning Them". The red brick cloth cover has fading and bumps and 'dings' with light rubs atthe extremities. Plates are absolutely wonderful! Gilt titles etc. has faded. Wonderful full-page prints, colore plates etc of birds.
