Ethel Mae Blythe was born in Philadelphia, August 15, 1879, to Maurice Barrymore and comedian Georgiana Drew. Her siblings are actors John Barrymore and Lionel Barrymore. Her grandfather is stage star John Drew. She is great aunt to Drew Barrymore. Ethel died June 18, 1959 of heart disease at the age of 79. Her last words are: "Is everybody happy? I want everybody to be happy. I know I'm happy.
