SHEET MUSIC SIZE
LARGE FORMAT - This is music published mostly before 1920 (although some examples of later dates exist) and is approximately 10" x 13" with up to about 1/2" or more size variation in any direction. Most antiquarian sheets (pre-1900) are of this size; most newspaper supplements are variations of this size as well. Many Theatre Music Sheets as well as sheets from Jos. W. Stern, to mention one company, from within 5 years of 1900 are slightly larger, being close to 11" X 14". From time-to-time one sees specialty sheets that I refer to as 3/4 size. These are closer to 9 3/4" X 12 3/4" in size and obviously larger than the small format sheets as described below.
SMALL FORMAT - This size was phased in beginning around 1918 (although earlier examples exist) and is approximately 9" x 12" with some small variation in any direction. After about 1960, 8" x 10" sizes became quite common.
WAR EDITION (small folio) - This size was originally produced during the WWI years to conserve paper. The sheets measure between 6" and 8" side and 8" to 10" high. Sizes varied by publisher. Some later examples of this size exist, mostly by small publishers.
OTHER - there are times when the size of a sheet is unusual. I attempt to state that in the listing
GRADING SYSTEM
Since grading vintage collectibles is so subjective and there are many unknowledgable sellers, I do NOT specifically state, good, near mint or mint in my descriptions. Instead I take a close-up photo or scan each sheet so you get a close-up view of it and you can make a decision on condition.
I ONLY offer quality condition sheets unless I have a rare sheet to offer.
I do my BEST to describe all flaws, but I'm only human and sometimes miss something. Please also depend on the scan included with the ad to see the exact piece of music you will receive. I scan each sheet upright for a close-up view. However, since they do not fit on the scanner I also provide a top half scan showing the edges. If a sheet has specific issues I will provide a scan of the top and bottom halves with the edges shown.

REPAIRS
I ATTEMPT TO DISCLOSE ALL REPAIRS existing on the sheet when purchased by me. I also undertake some minor repairs myself. The only types of repairs that I undertake are with an acid free tape or with Scotch Magic Tape. Most sheet music experts accept sheets repaired with these products.
SIGNATURES AND STAMPS
I ATTEMPT TO NOTE ANY MARKINGS ON THE MUSIC. These may be store stamps, owner stamps, owner signatures or marks, autographs and facsimile signatures.
COVER ARTIST
I DO ATTEMPT TO LIST the cover artist. There are a few times when I can not read the name!
